LHC in the Hizzouse

Thanks to my early years working with chem and physics, I have been following the development of the Large Hadron Collider for years with fascination.  Besides the fact that it is like the ultimate James Bond villain’s weapon (“wait, you mean this thing could actually destroy the earth?”), it is just a staggering piece of engineering and science and is one of the most beautiful, symmetric things ever built.

But – alas – some people start to glaze over when I begin to explain what the LHC does, so the nice people at CERN put together this little rap video (featuring the voice of HAL to intro the piece…) to explain it to all of us…
